In the second half of 2018, SAP presented the fourth version of the new ERP system – SAP S/4HANA 1808. It is a “mature” version with significant modernizations, both in the area of finance and logistics, supporting not only the basic ERP system but also its industry-specific versions, e.g. IS-Retail.
Companies that implement SAP from scratch already choose S/4HANA instead of the “good old” SAP ERP system. They are encouraged by better system performance, user-friendly integrated reporting (without the need to run a data warehouse), the modernization of many system functions and the addition of new, previously unavailable ones.
An important attribute of the new version is the possibility to use the new SAP Fiori user interface. On the other hand, companies that have already implemented an older version of the system (most often SAP ECC 6.0) are mostly reluctant to make a decision to migrate to a newer platform.
