BCC for the Automotive sector: 500 000 spare parts of VW and Audi in SAP system

The general importer of VW and Audi streamlined the biggest business area of the company: purchase, storage and sales of the spare parts to the cars of these makes. SAP solution implemented by BCC supports the management of about 500 000 goods items.

The dealer networks of VW and Audi are among others the customers of Kulczyk Tradex (KT) company. The goal of the undertaking – which lasted 9 months – was the optimization of the customer care thanks to the better control over the goods availability and shortening of time of purchase order execution. It was also managed to make savings in the scope of the internal processes, among others accelerating the goods turnover, strengthening the control over the dealer complaints.

The solution, which was launched in May of the current year, supports the activity of KT connected with the parts of VW i Audi, starting from the registration of the customer purchase order, purchase, import of items from the producer, through storage, sales and post-sales support (returns, complaints). The scale of its usage by KT proves the unique character of the solution. In SAP system, the data of about half million part types is processed, and daily the company handles the sales orders and transfer order, which include over 10 000 goods items. The last purchase orders are received each day prior 6 p.m., and already at 7:30 p.m. the first truck of the carrier with the spare parts for the customers leaves the storage.

As part of the project, executed by BCC, the innovative SAP functions, supporting the logistics processes, were implemented. Among others, these are the following functions: integration with the supplier of the logistics services, management of the processes for the regenerated parts, as well as the state-of-the-art solutions for the warehouse, which take advantage of the barcode scanners during the processes of receipt, packing and loading. The in-house developed solution of BCC in the field of cross-docking is worth to pay a special attention. This solution enables to save time and warehouse space thanks to the intelligent directing of goods ordered by the customers directly from the receipt area to the issue area. It accelerates the execution of the customer purchase orders, contributing at the same to the savings within the storage area.

The management of VW and Audi parts is the next business area of KT, which is included in SAP solutions. In the years 2003/2004, BCC implemented SAP for the area of car import and sales, and since 2007 also the areas of car accessories, marketing materials and service tools are supported in KT by means of SAP system.
