At Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sp. z o.o. (BOP), one of the fastest-developing companies in petrochemical industry in Poland, BCC has implemented a comprehensive SAP solution that includes production and trade areas.
BOP is a dynamically developing joint venture company. The company has two factories in Płock, which produce polypropylene and polyethylene; they are among the most modern and the largest in Europe.
Due to dynamic development and constant expansion of its distribution chain, the company restructured its ERP solution so that it can meet its growing needs in management support by IT systems.
The project composed of two phases: the first one, executed in 2005, was a comprehensive SAP implementation at a sales company, then in the course of establishing, fully dependent on BOP, called Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sprzedaż Sp. z o.o. In the second phase, which concerned production issues at BOP, the central SAP system, used by many companies in the capital group, was adjusted to BOP’s needs. The migration was accompanied by the tailoring of a wide range of solution’s functions to BOP’s requirements.
In both projects the implementation partner was BCC. The project at BOP production plant, led by BCC, finished at the beginning of 2007. Currently BOP uses w comprehensive IT solution that manages the operations of both companies. System SAP supports the following areas:
- financial accounting (FI)
- fixed assets accounting (FI-AA)
- treasury (TR)
- controlling (CO, CO-PA, ML)
- material management (MM)
- sales and distribution (SD)
- project system (PS)
Hubert Kacprzak, IT Manager at BOP and SAP project manager, estimates: ”Since January we have been working with the SAP system which is fully adjusted to the characteristics of our production and commercial company. The projects, carried out with BCC, resulted in creating a solution that combines all the processes in one system, which improves management.”
