For WSK, a Rzeszów-based manufacturer of sub-assemblies for aviation and engineering industry, BCC has carried out a project of creating a new business unit in SAP system.
The project, supported by BCC, is a part of a business undertaking that consists in separating the operations of Industry Business Unit as a separate unit. The plant, which so far has been operating within the structure of WSK PZL Rzeszów S.A., produces iron and aluminum casts and forgings. The newly-created unit, called Industry Business Unit ZM WSK, includes an iron foundry, aluminum foundry, forge, machining shop and offsite machining shop in Ropczyce.
Within the project BCC consultants created a concept of adjusting SAP system to creating Industry Business Unit as a separate company. The concept included:
- changes in SAP management of the so far business processes in WSK
- SAP managing new business processes in WSK, which emerged as a reasult of the changes in the organizational structure (e.g. internal settlements)
- a data conversion in SAP, necessary because of the changes in WSK organizational structure (like moving the records between the companies’ ledgers, moving business partners’ records or stocks)
After a concept of adjusting SAP system was created, BCC consultants supported WSK in implementing SAP system solutions, their testing, creating developments in ABAP, preparing the system for work in the changed organizational structure, in data conversion and in the first period of using the system with th enew settings.
The works, started in September 2004, covered the following areas: financial accounting (FI), fixed assets accounting (FI-AA), controlling (CO), materials management (MM), production planning (PP), sales and distribution (SD). Since the beginning of 2005 SAP system has been used for managing WSK business processes in the changed organizational structure, in which the Industry Business Unit operates as a separate company.
WSK PZL Rzeszów SA produces aerospace components and complete power units. The company produces compressor cases, combustion chambers, stators, compressor vanes, turbine blades and plane engines: jet, turbine and turboprop.
