Cast Iron Foundry Srem has implemented SAP R/3 system

In January, 2001, Odlewnia Zeliwa Srem SA, manufacturer and exporter of industrial casts, implemented the SAP R/3 system. The implementation process was carried out by BCC.

The following modules were implemented: BC – Basis, FI – financial accounting, CO – controlling, FI-AA – assets accounting, MM – material management, SD – sales and distribution. A PP module – and production planning in the Main Casting Hall and in Heavy Casts and Mechanical Treatment Departments was also started. The implementation began in January 2000 and ended in January 2001 by starting the system. The next stage, planned for the year 2001, is to implement the PP module in other production departments of Odlewnia Zeliwa.

Mr Stefan Włodarczyk, Member of the Board and Production Director of the Foundry, speaks about benefits from starting the system in the sphere of production: "The implementation of R3 system in our company means not just the advantages connected with the Foundry employees obtaining tools for planning, controling and accounting of the production process. Besides, in the course ogf the works, we were able to verify and set to order certain data concerning e.g. technological process routes, materials and material specifications."

Odlewnia Zeliwa Srem SA is one of the largest iron casting factories in Poland. Annually, it manufactures approximately 50 thousands tonnes of casts (mainly engine casts for shipbuilding, motorization and agriculture industries). Approximately 55% of the production is exported to Germany, Holland, Italy, France, Great Britain, Scandinavian countries. The Iron Casting Factory Srem SA is one of the largest Polish importers, supplying the European Union.
