New SAP HR extensions: Servicing of OHS processes related to accidents at work

BCC has introduced an custom solution extending the standard SAP HR functionality with regard to OHS processes. The application facilitates easy and clear registration of accidents at work, accidents on the way to and from work and incidents equivalent to workplace accidents or which may lead to accidents as well as contractors’ accidents. Thanks to this functionality accident-related documentation can be administered by the company itself.

All information relating to specific accidents is available on one screen. It is possible to print relevant documents regarding incidents, such as records of statements by the injured and witnesses, reports on the identification of causes and circumstances of accidents, applications to the certifying physician and medical evaluations concerning the accident. Where necessary, the form of the printout complies with legal requirements.

The tool supports document versioning, creation of any number of annotations and addition of attachments (photographs, document scans). Every attachment (text or graphic) may be provided with a user comment of an unlimited length. After saving the files they may be exported to a local disc. The application offers a clear and user-friendly method for administering post-accident documentation.

The solution- servicing of OHS processes related to accidents at work is available in the form of an extension to the standard SAP HR system version 4.6 and higher. The screen views, number of infotypes and their numbers in the system, printouts, numbering method, reports, information displayed and authorizations can be freely configured. Additionally, it is easy to expand the tool to include the servicing of other OHS-related areas, such as risk assessment at workplaces or management of working clothes.

”We have prepared this application to help companies using SAP HR for which the OHS area is of particular importance, such as large manufacturing companies and retail chains. By servicing these processes in SAP HR – the main personnel and payroll system – the post-accident documentation can be maintained in a similar way to HR documentation and reports may be generated in a flexible manner thanks to SAP tools. We are making use of a number of advantages of the integrated SAP HR system: data safety, an authorization system and advanced reporting,” says Michał Szymaczek, BCC business development Manager in the area of HR management.
