Since January this year Polskie Wydawnictwa Profesjonalne sp. z o.o. (PWP) is using SPRINT – a preconfigured SAP system for medium sized companies. The implementation works were carried out by BCC. The project, set off in the middle of 2002, covered the following business areas: financial accounting, fixed assets accounting, controlling, treasury, materials management, sales and distribution and the functionality of a www shop. The second stage of the implementation project has just begun, covering the area of human resources management (also with the use of a pre-configured solution – HR SPRINT).
The project covered five autonomous PWP entities: Wydawnictwo Prawnicze LEX, Dom Wydawniczy ABC, Wydawnictwo Konieczny i Kruszewski, Kantor Wydawniczy Zakamycze and Oficyna Ekonomiczna. The mentioned companies are mainly in the publishing business, publishing updated electronic products (like LEX – a popular base of legal acts on CD), updated paper publications, books and magazines. PWP is the largest Polish provider of updated professional and legal information.
Piotr Różański, PWP Finance Director, concludes: „Implementation of SAP gave us an opportunity of comprehensive operation and control over the key business processes occurring in PWP. The system is flexible and can be easily adapted to changes occurring both on the market and inside the company. The support of a team of experienced and competent BCC consultants allowed to implement the system to a wide extend in a very short time. Both during the implementation and after the active start-up of the system we could count on BCC in obtaining immediate help with current problems. A degree of our satisfaction from the decision to purchase the system is proved by the fact that at the moment we are starting SAP implementation in the area of human resources management”.
SPRINT is a preconfigured solution developed by BCC, enabling quicker and cheaper start-up of SAP system in medium sized companies. SPRINT is the only one pre-configured solution certified by SAP Polska. SPRINT has been so far implemented in Elite Cafe and in 12 companies belonging to a press group – Orkla Press Polska. At the moment SPRINT is also being implemented in Mokate SA.
