Safety and hygiene at work (BHP) procedures in mySAP HR

BCC has prepared and offers a solution that extends the standard mySAP HR functionality in health and safety at work procedures. ‘BHP service’ is an application that helps health and safety specialists efficiently manage the most important safety procedures, with the use of employees’ and workplace data stored in mySAP HR.

Thanks to the functionality ‘BHP service’ a safety specialist gets a tool integrated with mySAP HR that supports his work in three main areas:

  • Recording work related accidents (preparing and electronic archiving of records from hearing witnesses and victims, post-accident reports, statistical accident card forms and maintaining a register of work related accidents).
  • Keeping records of work uniforms (the system records work clothes stored in a warehouse and those given out to employees; it also notifies about the need of a purchase in line with employees’ needs).
  • Risk assessment at workplace (the systems supports legally required procedures, like occupational risk assessment at a workplace, by supplying tools for automatic calculation of risk for dangerous and hazardous factors as well as threats at the workplace. Moreover, the system calculates a postural load at work by using the OWAS method and a psychological workload. The system gives a health and safety specialist an access to all necessary documents and reports, including a register of measurements, cards of measurements, risk assessment and evaluation, dangerous and hazardous factors; occupational risk assessment – threats; occupational risk evaluation –threats; a card form for occupational risk assessment).

The first company to use ‘BHP service’, the functionality developed by BCC, is Makro Cash & Carry.

The functionality BHP service offers the following advantages:

Less work while processing health and safety procedures – while creating records a health and safety specialist uses the data already stored in mySAP HR (employees’ data for accident and work clothes handover records; workplace description in the organizational chart for risk assessment)
The records are orderly and readily-available in an IT system, which makes the whole procedure more efficient
The cost of outsourcing of health and safety specialists is diminished; simple procedures of automatic workplace risk assessment enable to perform the procedure without the need of outside support
